The Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership programme is offered to increase your
knowledge, understanding and management skills in ways that relate directly to your own environment
and circumstances. It will develop the understanding of people in organizations and interpersonal skills.
The purpose of the programme is to provide an intellectually stimulating and practically relevant
educational experience. It is focussed upon an applied skills- based approach, and some experience is
assumed.
Upon successful completion of the EDSML programme at the London School of Science & Technology
graduates may join any British university with eligibility for Masters in Business Administration (MBA)
exemptions.
The Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership may open doors to a range of Business
and Management related positions in City firms, multinational companies, specialist consultancies and
small & medium-sized enterprises across a broad range of industry sectors.
The entry profile will include at least one of the following:
• A degree, or BTEC Higher National Certificate or Diploma in a related subject (e.g. Business
Management);
• A BTEC Level 5/6 Short Course in a related subject (e.g. Business or Management);
• Appropriate work experience: mature learners may present a more varied profile of achievement
that is likely to include extensive work experience and/or achievement of a range of professional
qualifications in their work sector.
All students must also have English level band 5.5 - 6.5 in IELTS or equivalent.
The programme may be taken either as a part-time study for UK/ EU students or as full-time study by
overseas students.

Assessment is undertaken in a variety of ways that may include assignments, practical projects,
presentations and examinations dependant upon the Unit.
For full qualification, the student must complete:
Three (3) Core Units and Seven (7) Specialist Units to a total of 120 Credits.

If a student passes 60 credits (25 credits from core and 35 credits from specialist units) can exit the
programme with a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership from Edexcel board.
Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership
If a student passes 20 credits (10 credits from core and 10 credits from specialist units) can exit the
programme with a Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership from Edexcel board.
