Course Description

Studying Computing and Information Systems will give students the fundamental skills needed to become an information systems professional. Students will learn how to turn a proposal into a working system that can develop and grow to meet new and changing needs. It is the aim of the BSc Computing and Information Systems qualification to provide a wide appreciation of the subject, rather than just an understanding of existing commercial approaches, so that understanding and knowledge can adapt and evolve to match the skills that will be required in the 21st century.
The degree is designed for a wide range of students, including those who wish to pursue a career in management, software engineering or computer programming, based on a strong technical competence in information systems, and also those who wish to move on to study for higher degrees in the computing and information technology area. No prior knowledge of computing is assumed.
